CHOICES ABOUT HOW WE USE AND DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION

Cookies: The Website may log information using cookies, which are small data files stored on your browser by the Website. The Website may use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted, to provide you with a more personalized experience on the Website.

The Website uses cookies to store visitors’ preferences, record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, ensure that visitors are not repeatedly sent the same banner ads, and customize content based on visitors’ browser type or other information that the visitor sends. Cookies may also be used by third-party services, such as Google Analytics, as described herein.

You may, at any time, prevent the setting of cookies by the Website by using a corresponding setting of your internet browser and may thus permanently deny the setting of cookies. Furthermore, already set cookies may be deleted at any time via an Internet browser or other software programs. This is possible in all popular Internet browsers. However, if you deactivate the setting of cookies in your Internet browser, not all functions of our Website may be entirely usable.

Retargeting Ads: From time to time, the Website may engage in remarketing efforts with third-party companies, such as Google, Facebook, or Instagram, in order to market the Website. These companies use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the Website. This means, after visiting the Website, you may see an ad for our services. However, your Personal Data and other information is not used by any remarketing service other than to present you offers from Feminist Book Club. We use Facebook and Google for remarketing. If you do not want us to use information that we collect or that you provide to deliver such advertisements, you can opt-out using the links below:

  • Facebook: Opt-out of Facebook remarketing here.
  • Google: Opt-out of Google remarketing here.

Affiliate Program Participation: The Website may engage in affiliate marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links into the Website. If you click on a link for an affiliate partnership, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions.

Feminist Book Club is a participant in Bookshop.org, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and links to Bookshop.org. As part of this program, the Website will post customized links, provided by Bookshop.org, to track the referrals to their website. This program utilizes cookies to track visits for the purposes of assigning commission on these sales.

Tracking Pixels: On the Website, you may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes. All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, Feminist Book Club may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. Also, this allows Feminist Book Club to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.

If you wish to unsubscribe from our emails or our newsletter, you may click “unsubscribe” in the email or newsletter, as described below.

Promotional Offers from Feminist Book Club: You may “opt out” of receiving future commercial email communications from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of most emails we send; provided, however, we reserve the right to send you transactional emails such as customer service communications. You may also notify us at hello@feministbookclub.com to be removed from our mailing list.

We may retain your Personal Data to comply with laws, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our contracts, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.

If you send us an email with questions or comments, we may use your Personal Data to respond to your questions or comments, and we may save your questions or comments for future reference. Information About You and Your Visits to the Website

All information we collect on this Website is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the Website, you consent to all actions taken by us with respect to your information in compliance with the Privacy Policy.

Online Purchases and Other Terms and Conditions

You must be 18 years of age or older to make a purchase through this Website. You agree that any purchase you make through this Website is an offer to buy all products and services listed in your order. All orders must be accepted by us or we will not be obligated to sell the products or services to you. We may choose not to accept orders at our sole discretion, even after we send you a confirmation email with your order number and details of the items you have ordered.

The price charged for a product or service will be the price in effect at the time the order is placed and will be set out in your order confirmation email. Price increases will only apply to orders placed after such changes. Posted prices do not include taxes or charges for shipping and handling. All such taxes and charges will be added to your merchandise total, and will be itemized in your shopping cart and in your order confirmation email. We strive to display accurate price information, however we may, on occasion, make inadvertent typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions related to pricing and availability. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions at any time and to cancel any orders arising from such occurrences.

We will arrange for shipment of the products to you. Please check the individual product page for specific delivery options. You will pay all shipping and handling charges specified during the ordering process.

We do not manufacture or control any of the products or services offered on our Website. The availability of products or services through our Website does not indicate an affiliation with or endorsement of any product, service or manufacturer. Accordingly, we do not provide any warranties with respect to the products or services offered on our Site.

ALL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES OFFERED ON THIS SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY (A) WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY; (B) WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; OR (C) WARRANTY AGAINST INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF A THIRD PARTY; WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED BY LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, USAGE OF TRADE, OR OTHERWISE.

SOME JURISDICTIONS LIMIT OR DO NOT ALLOW THE DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED OR OTHER WARRANTIES SO THE ABOVE DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

YOU AFFIRM THAT WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, FOR ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY CLAIMS OR FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE MANUFACTURER’S FAILURE TO HONOR ITS WARRANTY OBLIGATIONS TO YOU.

Your Subscription

We offer monthly subscriptions with billing occurring monthly or once every third month. Your membership will be automatically renewed each month, and your payment method will be automatically charged according to the billing frequency you selected. By purchasing a month-to-month subscription, you agree and acknowledge that your subscription has an initial and recurring payment charge at the then-current subscription rate, and you accept responsibility for all recurring charges prior to cancellation. You agree that once you have expressly agreed for your credit card to be charged on a recurring basis, and agreed to the amount of the recurring charges, we, through our payment processor, may submit periodic charges to your chosen payment method without further authorization from you. You may switch between membership levels, billing frequencies, payment methods, or cancel at any time by contacting us. You agree that such notice will not affect charges submitted before the Company reasonably could act.

Gift subscriptions are purchased for a fixed term and will not be renewed. You cannot cancel a gift subscription, and the pre-paid purchase price of the gift subscription is non-refundable.

To cancel your monthly subscription at any time, you may send us a message at hello@feministbookclub.com
