Big Wins & Big Changes

Rah and Renee stand in front of the Welcome sign at the Next Challenge award ceremony

Remember those emails hounding you to vote for us for The Next Challenge for Media & Journalism? Unfortunately, despite your votes and our best efforts, we didn’t win the Audience Choice Award. But….

WE WON THE VISION AWARD!

The Vision Award recognizes one of the nearly 400 media companies that applied for The Next Challenge that has a “bold vision to reinvent media over the coming decade.” This award was bestowed upon us by the team and advisors at the Glen Nelson Center and American Public Media Group. We are shocked, elated, and so proud! Rah and I were able to attend the award ceremony at American Public Media and MPR in St. Paul last night and accepted the recognition in person on behalf of our entire team of contributors.

We’re celebrating with our customer favorite NAME YOUR PRICE BUNDLES. Go now!

Award-winning media company has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

Thank you to everyone who voted for us (even though we lost the Audience Award and won a different one!) and to everyone who has reached out to support and congratulate us. This is truly a team effort and speaks to the brilliance of our contributors. We are so proud!

Coming Soon: SUBSCRIPTION CHANGES

Our Road Trip subscription box is the FINAL subscription box we’ll be shipping out. We’ve been listening to your feedback and changing our offerings to:

  • Physical book OR Audiobook
  • Fiction OR Non-fiction book

Beginning June 10, we’ll be featuring TWO books of the month: One fiction and one non-fiction. And you’ll be able to select a physical copy in the mail OR receive an audiobook through our friends at Libro.fm!

What does this mean for our boxes?

We will continue to support and amplify small woman-, queer-, and BIPOC-owned businesses in other ways. And you’ll find our quarterly boxes available without a subscription, too!

Our new book-only subscription will go up in price to $35/month for physical books (free shipping and small surprises) or $25/month for audiobooks. This includes access to our virtual community, discussion forms, author events, and exclusive content.

If you want to LOCK IN the current member rate of $30/month for your book, join us by June 9!
